Björn Zoëga was born in 1964. He graduated as an MD from the University of Iceland in 1990 and defended his PhD thesis in 1998 at the University of Gothenburg. He has been the CEO of Landspítali, the National University Hospital of Iceland, since 2008. He is also a clinical professor at the University of Iceland.
