Sale of Gleðipinnar I – merger of Gleðipinnar Ltd., Kaupfélag Skagfirðinga Cooperative Society Ltd., and Hái klettur Ltd.

The merger concerns the acquisition by KS and Hái klettur of Gleðipinnar hf. and part of the business previously carried on by the company. Following the merger, KS and Hái klett will therefore jointly own an as-yet-unincorporated company holding all the shares in Gleðipinnar hf. and the business units that will remain within it after the merger: Hamborgarafabrikkuna, Aktu Taktu, American Style and Blackbox. 

The relevant markets in which the effects of the merger could be felt are the market for restaurants and fast-food outlets, the market for other ready-made cold sauces, and the markets for fresh and processed meat products. In the opinion of the SE, there was no reason to intervene in respect of the merger, as it did not lead to the creation of a dominant position or any other significant distortion of competition.
