The holding company AU23, which was established by the specialised fund Umbreyting II slhf., purchased Magmahótel ehf. from the company Land og lóðir ehf. The fund is managed by Alfa Framtaks ehf., an independent operator of specialised funds. The merger has little impact on the market for hotel accommodation in South Iceland and the operation of restaurants.
