Merger of Jómfrúin Holding Company Ltd. and Snaps Ltd.

The Competition Authority has been reviewing the merger of Jómfrúin eignarhaldsfélag ehf. and Snaps ehf. Both companies operate restaurants, Jómfrúin and Snaps respectively. Jómfrúin eignarhaldsfélag ehf. has acquired a 100% share in Snaps ehf. and therefore has control over the company as a whole.

Following an investigation and having regard to the evidence, the Competition Authority is of the opinion that the merger will not prevent effective competition in the relevant markets and will not lead to the creation or strengthening of a dominant position. Furthermore, the merger does not otherwise lead to a significant distortion of competition in the market. Therefore, there are no grounds for action regarding the merger.
