The acquisition of Talenta ehf. and Staki automation ehf. by Blásali ehf.

The Competition Authority has been reviewing the acquisition by Blásalar ehf. of all shares in the information technology companies Talenta ehf. and Staki automation ehf. Blásalir is a holding company majority-owned by Deloitte ehf., while Talenta and Staki are IT companies providing software solutions. A so-called short merger notification was submitted with the merger notification. The Competition Authority considered that the acquisition constituted a merger within the meaning of competition law.

After examining the relevant markets, the Competition Authority is of the opinion that the merger will not have a decisive effect on the market or otherwise significantly distort competition.  Following an investigation, the Competition Authority therefore concludes that there is no reason for intervention in respect of this merger under Article 17 of the Competition Act.
