The acquisition by Fastus ehf. of all shares in Expert ehf., Expert kæling ehf., 1311 heild ehf. and a 50% share in Fossraf ehf.

The decision concerned the merger of Fastus ehf., Expert ehf., Expert kælingu ehf., 1311 heild ehf. and Fossraf ehf. The activities of the merging parties did not overlap in a way that warranted intervention. The activities covered by the merger were, inter alia, considered to relate to (a) maintenance and repair services for customers in the large-scale consumer market, (b) general electrical services for smaller electrical appliances, (c) the sale of ice machines, cold rooms and refrigerators; freezer cabinets, freezers and freezer tables, along with refrigeration compressors and condensers for such products, and (d) the sale of certain tableware. Following an investigation into the merger, the Competition Authority concluded that there was no reason for intervention, as there were no indications that a dominant position was being created or that the merger would otherwise lead to a significant distortion of competition.
