Merger of Pizza-pizza ehf. and G. Arnfjörð ehf.

The Competition Authority has been reviewing the merger between Pizza-pizza ehf. and G. Arnfjörð ehf. Pizza-pizza ehf. operates Domino's outlets in Iceland and, through this merger, Pizza-pizza ehf. is taking over the leases and purchasing the equipment of two outlets from G. Arnfjörð, which operates Pizzuna, as both companies operate in the same market.

Following an investigation and having regard to the evidence, the Competition Authority is of the opinion that the merger will not prevent effective competition in the relevant markets and will not lead to the creation or strengthening of a dominant position. Furthermore, the merger does not otherwise lead to a significant distortion of competition in the market. Therefore, there are no grounds for action regarding the merger.
