Purchase of Innn ehf. by Kaup 365 hf.

The Competition Authority received a notification regarding the acquisition by 365 hf of all the shares in Innn ehf. An assessment was carried out to determine whether the merger would hinder effective competition by creating a dominant position or by strengthening an existing one.  The Competition Authority's investigation revealed that these companies operate in different markets and that there is little or no overlap between them.  Furthermore, the barriers to entry in the markets in which Innn operates are very low. The Competition Authority therefore assessed that the merger would not have harmful competitive effects and did not consider it necessary to take further action regarding it under Article 17 of the Competition Act.
