Merger of Ramma hf. and Primex ehf.

The fishing and fish processing company Rammi hf. owned just under half of the shares in the biotechnology company Primex ehf., which produces chitin and chitosan from waste from prawn processing plants. By purchasing an increased shareholding in Primex ehf., Rammi hf. gained control of the biotechnology company. The Competition Authority saw no reason to take action regarding the merger.
