Merger of Advania Holding hf. and Wise lausna ehf.

The Competition Authority has been reviewing the merger of Advania Holding hf. and Wise lausna ehf. During the review, the merging parties decided to withdraw their merger notification. The merging parties therefore decided not to pursue the merger further, after the Competition Authority had presented its preliminary assessment of the merger's potential effects. The merging parties and the Competition Authority publicly announced this outcome on 18 June 2019. As the merger notification was withdrawn, the Authority did not need to take a final position on the effects of the merger and therefore has no grounds to take further action in the matter.
