COVID-19 impact exemption for companies operating scheduled flights to and from Keflavik Airport

In this decision, Kynnisferðir and Airport Direct are granted an exemption to cooperate on the temporary joint use of their vehicle fleet on the scheduled route between Leif Erikson Airport and the capital region. The exemption is intended to enable the companies to respond to the unprecedented situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but as stated in m.a. as stated in the decision, the transport of airline passengers to and from Keflavik Airport is a crucial part of transport to and from the country and is therefore significant for the reconstruction of the tourism industry here in Iceland once the current COVID-19 situation has passed.
