Alfa Initiative's takeover bid for Origo

The decision concerned the takeover bid by Alfa Framtaks for Origo. The activities of the merging undertakings did not overlap in a way that would have warranted intervention.

The activities covered by the merger were considered to concern many markets, including the information technology market. Following an investigation into the merger, the Competition Authority concluded that the proposed merger would not have the effect of creating or strengthening a dominant position, or otherwise significantly restricting competition. For these reasons, the Authority concluded that there were no grounds to take action in this matter under Article 17(c) of the Competition Act.
