Merger of Hornsteinn Holding ehf., M and S ehf. and HSTN ehf. (Gravel and Sand)

On 4 April 2024, the Competition Authority was notified of the merger of HSTN ehf. and M and S ehf. HSTN is a subsidiary of Eignarhaldsfélagsins Hornsteins ehf., which owns the subsidiaries and companies BM Vallá, Björgun and Sementsverksmiðjan, which operate alongside the merging parties in the procurement of raw materials, production, sales and services in the construction market and in civil engineering in Iceland. The merger of Hornsteinn Holding ehf. and M og S ehf. through HSTN ehf. constitutes a merger within the meaning of competition law. The Competition Authority does not consider there to be any grounds for further action in the matter.
