Purchase by Kristins ehf. of all shares in Korputorg ehf.

Samkeppniseftirlitið hefur haft til umfjöllunar kaup Kristins ehf. á Korputorgi ehf. Kristinn ehf. á eignarhluti í ýmsum fyrirtækjum, s.s. Ísfélagi Vestmannaeyja hf., Kvos ehf., ÍSAM ehf. og Árvakri hf. Starfa þessi fyrirtæki á ýmsum sviðum atvinnulífsins but þó not á þeim markaði sem Korputorg starfar á. Korputorg er fasteignafélag sem á og rekur samnefnda fasteign sem er 45.550 fermetrar að stærð. Áformað er að hluti af Korputorgi verði nýtt undir starfsemi ÍSAM ehf. sem er einn stærsti birgir á dagvörumarkaði. 

Following an investigation and having regard to the evidence, the Competition Authority is of the opinion that the merger does not prevent effective competition and will not result in the creation of a dominant position. Furthermore, it will not otherwise significantly distort competition in the market. Therefore, there are no grounds to take action regarding the merger under Article 17(c) of the Competition Act No. 44/2005.
