The acquisition of Radíómiðun-Ísmar ehf. by Síminn hf.

Síminn hf. acquired a specific part of the business of Radíómiðun-Ísmar ehf. (Radíómiðun) last May. Radíómiðun's business has primarily consisted of the resale of satellite services and the sale of telecommunications equipment and fish-finding devices. Síminn's acquisition of Radíómiðun constitutes a merger within the meaning of competition law. The Competition Authority's review does not indicate that the merger will have an adverse effect on competition. The Authority therefore sees no reason to take action in respect of it.
