The Competition Authority has been considering the acquisition by Sense ehf.,
a wholly-owned subsidiary of Origo hf., owns the majority of the assets of the bankruptcy estate of Tölvutek ehf.
The merger document states that Sense is wholly owned by Origo. According to the website
Origo is a company, a service company in information technology, and its mission is
the company's to assist clients to achieve even better results in their operations with
IT support, staff expertise and services. On the homepage
Tölvuteks says that the company is one of the largest distributors and resellers of computers.

says that the company has been placed into liquidation by a court order
of the Reykjavík District Court dated 3 July 2019, but its operations had been suspended due to
financial difficulties on 24 June 2019.

in the opinion of the Competition Authority, it is not apparent, based on the information provided,
that the relevant merger leads to the creation of a dominant position or
is strengthened or that the merger leads to a distortion of competition in other respects by
significantly, cf. Article 17(c) of the Competition Act. For that reason, it is
the conclusion of the review that there is no reason to take action regarding this merger,
e.g. by intervention in the form of annulment or the imposition of conditions.
