The acquisition by 365 Media ehf. of the assets of D3 Media ehf. relating to the website Tónlist.is.

The Competition Authority has been reviewing the acquisition by the media company 365 Media ehf. of the assets of D3 Media ehf. relating to the music service Tonlist.is. The media company's acquisition of the music service constitutes a merger within the meaning of Article 17 of the Competition Act. Prior to the transaction, Tonlist.is was owned by D3 Media, a subsidiary of Sena ehf., a company operating in the entertainment sector which, among other things, sells music, computer games and films wholesale. Following its investigation, the Competition Authority concluded that the merger would neither harm competition within the meaning of the Competition Act, nor pluralism or diversity in the media within the meaning of Article 62b of the Media Act No. 38/2011.
