Merger of Vekru ehf./Bílaumboðsins Öskju ehf. and Dekkjahallarinnar ehf.

Samkeppniseftirlitið hefur haft til umfjöllunar samruna Vekru ehf. og Dekkjahallarinnar ehf. Vekra er eignarhaldsfélag sem á m.a. Bílaumboðið Öskju ehf, Lotus Car Rental ehf. og fleiri fyrirtæki. Dekkjahöllin flytur inn og selur hjólbarða, felgur og ýmis konar tæki sem tengjast hjólbörðum, ásamt því að reka fjögur hjólbarðaverkstæði í þremur mismunandi sveitarfélögum.

The Competition Authority therefore concludes that nothing in the information or evidence currently available suggests that the merger will have a significant effect on, or substantially distort, competition. For these reasons, the Competition Authority sees no reason to take further action regarding the merger and is therefore closing the investigation at the Phase I stage.
