Merger of Johan Rönning Ltd. and Varma and Vélaverks Ltd.

Ber þar helst að nefna innflutning og dreifingu á raflagnaefni, rafvörum og skyldum vörum. Þá starfar Johan Rönning einnig við innflutning á efni til miðstöðvar- og neysluvatnslagna. Hvað varðar starfsemi Varma og vélaverks segir í samrunaskrá að það selji tækjalausnir og tækjabúnað til fyrirtækja og sveitarfélaga. Um sé að ræða ýmis konar vélabúnað, drifbúnað og búnað til að flytja vökva og annað fljótandi hráefni, þrýstiloft og einnig varmaorku.

Following an investigation and having regard to the evidence, the Competition Authority is of the opinion that the merger does not prevent effective competition and therefore does not result in the creation of a dominant position. Furthermore, it does not otherwise lead to a significant distortion of competition in the market. Therefore, there are no grounds to take action regarding the merger under Article 17(c) of the Competition Act No. 44/2005.
