Merger of the Savings Bank of Mýrasýsla and the Savings Bank of Siglufjörður

In a letter dated 21 May, Sparisjóður Mýrarsýslu notified the Competition Authority of its acquisition of Sparisjóður Siglufjarðar. The letter was accompanied by a merger filing, the presentation of which did not comply with the annex to Regulation No. 881/2005 on merger notifications. Sufficient information was received with a letter dated 18 July, received on 23 July. The Competition Authority's investigation did not indicate that the merger would lead to a distortion of competition. The Competition Authority therefore saw no reason to take action regarding the merger.
