The Competition Authority has ruled that the Civil Defence Association Landsbjörg must financially separate all of its activities that are conducted in competition with market participants on the one hand, i.e.i. the management of the sale and service of first-aid kits, the sale of fireworks and Christmas trees, and the general rescue and accident prevention activities, which are partly funded by public money. Financial separation is intended to ensure that the competitive operations of the Slysavarnafélag Landsbjargar are not subsidised by funds from the organisation's activities which receive public funding. .
