Merger of SÍA IV Ltd., Stefnis hf. and Internet in Iceland ehf.

The Competition Authority approved the merger of the companies, as Internet á Íslandi ehf. (ISNIC) operates in the service and sale of .is domains in the country-code top-level domain market. Stefnir and SÍA do not operate in the same market, and therefore this is a conglomerate merger. The parties shortened the prohibition on competition from five to two years. The Competition Authority concluded that the merger neither strengthened a dominant market position nor otherwise distorted competition.
