Purchase of Basis Ltd. by Sensa Ltd.

The Competition Authority reviewed the acquisition by Sensa ehf., a subsidiary of Síminn hf., of all shares in the information technology company Basis ehf. Basis's main business was in hosting and operational services. The merger does strengthen Sensa's position in the IT market to some extent, but not to the point of having a harmful effect on competition, as there is no indication that a dominant position will be created as a result of the merger. Following an investigation, the Competition Authority has concluded that there is no reason to take action regarding this merger.
