Competition restrictions by the Municipality of Hornafjörður in refusing to grant a tourism facility at Jökulsárlón

In this opinion, the Competition Authority recommends that the Municipality of Hornafjörður promote effective competition in the market for the operation of tourist services at Jökulsárlón, to the extent appropriate and within its remit. The opinion is published following an investigation by the Competition Authority into submissions from Ice Lagoon ehf. concerning alleged breaches of competition law in connection with the operation of tourism services at Jökulsárlón and the restriction of access to that market.
