Brim hf. v. The Competition Authority

The dispute in this case concerns whether the Competition Authority was authorised to impose daily fines on the appellant when the appellant did not fully comply with the Competition Authority's request for the submission of information and documents under Article 19. of the Competition Act, in connection with the Competition Authority's investigation into management and ownership structures in the country's fisheries. 

The Competition Appeal Board has decided to annul the decision under appeal. The decision of the Competition Authority of 19 July 2023, to impose daily fines on the appellant in the amount of 3,500,000 kr. per day until the Competition Authority's request for information of 5. April 2023 has been answered satisfactorily, is quashed.
