The acquisition by Orkusalan ehf. of part of the operations of Fallorka ehf.

The merger involves the acquisition by Orkusalan ehf. of part of the operations of Fallorka ehf. Orkusalan operates in the market for the generation of electricity and in the retail market for electricity. Fallorka operates in the same markets as Orkusalan, and therefore this is a horizontal merger. Specifically, Orkusalan is acquiring Fallorka's retail operations and charging stations. In the opinion of the Competition Authority, the merger has little impact on the market for the production and retail sale of electricity and the operation of charging stations in public spaces, either nationwide or within the distribution area of Norðurorka.
