The Competition Authority has today taken an interim decision regarding the refusal by IGS ehf. at Keflavik Airport to provide cargo handling services for the company Cargo Express ehf., which offers freight transport on Iceland Express flights. It is considered likely that by refusing, IGS has abused its dominant market position in the market for the sale of cargo handling services at Keflavik Airport. IGS is a subsidiary of the Icelandair Group and therefore a sister company of Icelandair Cargo, which holds a dominant position in freight transport to and from Iceland. The decision directs IGS to enter into a contract with Cargo Express for cargo handling without delay.
See the provisional decision for details. No. 1/2011.
