The District Court rules in favour of the Competition Authority in the case of Rannsóknarstofan í Mjódd sf.

The Research Institute in Mjódd sf. brought an action before the Reykjavík District Court, demanding that a ruling of the Competition Appeals Board No. 6/2005 would be annulled. In that case, the Competition Appeals Board had confirmed the decision of the Competition Council No. 1/2005 that there were no legal grounds to take action under competition law against certain actions by the health authorities. In its judgment today, the District Court rejected this claim by the Research Institute.
