The Research Institute in Mjódd sf. brought an action before the Reykjavík District Court, demanding that a ruling of the Competition Appeals Board No. 6/2005 would be annulled. In that case, the Competition Appeals Board had confirmed the decision of the Competition Council No. 1/2005 that there were no legal grounds to take action under competition law against certain actions of the health authorities. On 17 May 2006 rejected The District Court granted the Institute's request. The case was appealed to the Supreme Court, which yesterday upheld the District Court's judgment.
