Submission of Auðkenni hf. on the extension of an exemption under Article 15 of the Competition Act concerning cooperation between banks and savings banks on security equipment in banking services.

The Competition Authority received a submission from Auðkenni Ltd. requesting that an exemption, which the Competition Authority granted on the basis of the provision of Article 15 of the Competition Act by decision No. 50/2006 The cooperation between banks and savings banks concerning the purchase, installation and operation of the so-called Todos security equipment in internet banking services would be extended until 31 December 2011. The Competition Authority, in view of the circumstances, considered it possible to grant that request.
