
Benedikt Árnason has been appointed to the Competition Authority as a full-time consultant, where he will take part in various investigations concerning corporate restructuring and bank takeovers of companies.
Benedikt is an economist by training, with an MA in Economics and an MBA in Finance from the University of Toronto in Canada. He was CEO of Askar Capital for two years from the autumn of 2008, Deputy Managing Director and Country Manager for Iceland at the Nordic Investment Bank in Helsinki for three years, and before that, Director of the Office at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for several years.
Benedikt started working at the Competition Authority on 1 November.
