The Chinese Competition Authority on a visit

On 17 December, the Competition Authority had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the Chinese competition authorities, led by its Director-General, Shang Ming. During the meeting, the competition authorities exchanged information about their respective organisations, the national competition policies and their implementation, particularly in the area of merger control. By their nature, the Icelandic and Chinese competition authorities are different in structure and size. However, it was noted at the meeting that the nature of the tasks undertaken by the authorities is fundamentally similar. The Competition Authority considers these interactions with the Chinese competition authorities to be beneficial and looks forward to further such exchanges to enhance its knowledge.
