In response to comments from the managing director of Baugur hf. and other traders regarding the procedures and working methods of the Competition Authority in the preparation of the report 'The Food Market, Price Development in Retail Trade 1996 to 2000', the Authority considers it necessary to make a few observations. Furthermore, it is considered necessary to address the comments of the CEO of Baugur hf. and other retailers regarding the price development of certain food products.
