At its meeting last week, the Competition Council adopted four decisions and one opinion.

  1. Submission of Halo Ltd. concerning alleged breaches of competition law by the Icelandic Meteorological Office. -Providing for financial separation- (Decision No. 13/2002)
  2. Complaint concerning the refusal of the Icelandic Gaming Board to install a lottery terminal at Shellnesti in Húsavík. –No grounds for intervention by the Competition Council (Decision No. 14/2002)
  3. Complaint by Suðurlands Veterinary Service concerning alleged anti-competitive practices contained in the terms of employment of supervising veterinarians in Suðurland. –No grounds for intervention by the Competition Council- (Decision No. 15/2002)
  4. Complaint by a district court lawyer regarding the current procedure for obtaining the right of audience before the Supreme Court. – No grounds for action. (Decision No. 16/2002)
  5. A complaint concerning the Commissioner of Inland Revenue's interpretation of a provision in the Value Added Tax Act which discriminates between parties who sell tickets for theatrical or musical performances and dinner in connection with the performances. (Opinion No. 1/2002)
