The Competition Authority is looking for a dynamic lawyer with a passion for competition law. The lawyers at the Competition Authority participate in and are responsible for resolving competition matters in various sectors of the economy, as well as undertaking other interesting projects in the field of competition law.

Key tasks:

  • Responsibility for and participation in the resolution of competition matters across a diverse range of business sectors.
  • Analysis of the competitive position of companies
  • Market monitoring and analysis
  • Research and data processing
  • Reports and opinions
  • Possibility of participation in international cooperation

Educational and competency requirements:

  • Bar exam or Master's degree in Law
  • Experience of competition or administrative law matters
  • Experience and knowledge of European law is an advantage.
  • Proactive problem-solving
  • Good analytical skills and an organised approach to work
  • Communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Very good command of Icelandic and English, both spoken and written.
